Ernest Olivarez is an award-winning Texas-based author, songwriter, playwright, and singer. A first-generation Mexican-American on his mother’s side and fourth-generation on his father’s, Ernest proudly celebrates his cultural heritage through every story he tells.
He has been happily married to his wife, Melisa, since 1992. Together, they have raised five children—Michael, Isaiah, Luke, Aaron, Nichole, and Alexis, their angel in heaven—and are the proud grandparents of Delilah, Isabella, and Alinah.
By day, Ernest works as an electrical engineer. In his free time, he devotes himself to his greatest passions: storytelling, music, volunteering at his church, and, most importantly, spending time with family.
In 2025, Ernest is set to release two fiction titles: The Sundance Kids – Lost Treasure, a heart-pounding coming-of-age adventure for young adult readers, and True Mulligan, a redemptive golf story with surprising emotional depth. Both novels are set in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He will also release his second children’s book, Jose the Reindeer: Adventures in Mexico, continuing the journey of his beloved bilingual holiday character.
