Randi Whitney has spent 25 years writing curriculum for teachers and sharing with educators how to think like an author. Now she becomes one for children.

Already an esteemed author of a Language Arts educational curriculum, Teach BIG, and the owner of an early childhood preschool, Strawberry Fields, Randi Whitney expands her repertoire by adding children’s book author to her list of accomplishments.

Randi Whitney, a 25-year educator (Goose Creek ISD and Pasadena ISD), began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher until she was asked to move to fifth grade to help students with writing. Taking on the challenge with a mindset that Language Arts should have manipulatives, too, Whitney began developing activities to teach the toughest and most abstract concepts within reading and writing.

Before long, her students began reading and writing with enthusiasm. Upon unlocking these mysteries with her Teach BIG methodology, Whitney became a much sought-after educator, speaker, author, and trainer.

The last 25 years have been spent inspiring fellow teachers by utilizing brain-based techniques, writing curriculum for grades PK-12, obtaining multiple trademarks, opening an early childhood preschool, and spreading her vision to Teach BIG – Believe In Greatness. You can join her for specialized training at the Conference Ranch Retreat in Crockett, TX or have her come to your school to inspire your language arts hearts!

Whitney knows the importance of marrying reading and writing in the classroom. Her countless hours of in-depth research is saving busy teachers and supervisors precious time. Perhaps the most significant discovery to date is the development of her trademarked 4 Dimensions of Reading Comprehension. She touts, “It’s not the start of a question, it’s the heart of a question!” Through understanding literature and deciphering what is truly being asked within a question, responses are more likely to be accurate and build learner confidence.
